Andre Cason is a retired American track and field athlete, born on January 20, 1969, in Virginia, USA. He was known for his prowess in sprint events, particularly in the 100-meter and 200-meter races.
Cason began his athletic career at Florida State University, where he was a standout athlete. In 1988, he turned professional and competed in international events. He represented the United States in the 1991 World Championships, where he won the gold medal in the 100 meters and silver in the 4x100 relay.
In 1992, Cason represented the United States at the Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. However, he failed to qualify for the 100-meter final, finishing seventh in his semifinal heat. He did, however, win a silver medal in the 4x100 relay.
Throughout his career, Cason set several personal bests and held the record for the fastest wind-assisted 100 meters at 9.92 seconds. After retiring from competitive athletics, he worked as a coach and later as a fitness trainer.
